Welcome to A Creek Runs Through It. I’m so glad you’re here.
A Little About My Family
My husband, Jason, and I have been together for 27 years! We have two beautiful kiddos that we have been homeschooling for 11 years now. Hard to believe it has been that long! Our daughter is 17 years old and loves all things involving animals or the outdoors- she’s our hiker, horseback rider, and animal whisperer. She taught us that we loved being parents, so we had our second child. He is 12 years old and is lovingly referred to by everyone in our family
When our kids were itty-bitty we lived completely off the grid for 8 years on a remote 20 acres in Arizona. We built a custom strawbale house with solar and wind power, water catchment, gray water system… the works! We loved our home and living off the grid but we yearned for having land with water! So we moved to Colorado! We are now blessed to live on a beautiful ranch with a lovely creek that runs the length of it. Our kids have the benefit of exploring this beautiful wilderness that we call home. Currently, we have cows, horses, bees, and pigs. We share our home with 4 dogs and 2 cats. Never a dull moment around here! We love to read together as a family, camp, hike, travel, and do all the things required to care for our ranch.
Family Adventures
I am passionate about homeschooling and view it as just one piece of the lifestyle we have created. I love to talk homeschool curriculum and hope that our experience can help others as they homeschool their families. My husband enjoys dreaming up new adventures and projects for our family to work on!
We hope to share all our family adventures with you- whether it’s homeschooling, traveling, sustainable building, homesteading, or whatever else we venture into! So grab a cup of coffee and join us in living the dream.
